Olinda’s tease backfires

Socialite Olinda Chapel’s decision not to reveal her new baby’s face to the public was hailed as a mature and safe decision. Indeed most people commended the initiative adding that it was safe and showed maturity on her part.

However the praise was short-lived and when she started posting pictures of the baby with the face hidden most of her fans feigned irritation.

Olinda gave birth to her baby Nandi early this month and shared the news with the rest of the world. Her followers had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the baby. She however made a bold decision not to show her baby’s face until she was ready.

This decision made her the subject of online bullying with some people questioning the importance of her baby over all other babies that have been born so far. Others bemoaned the fact that Olinda had been outspoken about her daughter throughout her pregnancy only to decide to hide her from the same public that had been her pillar of strength pre birth.

Olinda has defended her actions saying that she would only show Nandi’s face when she was a bit grown up. Some of her fans agreed with her and noted that the baby was too young to be thrust into the public eye.

Olinda’s decision does not fall far off from traditional beliefs and norms. A newborn baby is deemed special and must at all times be protected from the prying eyes of the public.
