It is every parent’s desire to see their child making achievements in life. Nothing is more satisfactory than to see your own flesh and blood successfully making great strides in their day to day activities. However, it is even more appealing when a child follows in their parent’s footsteps. These top musicians emulated their parents and made great strides in the entertainment industry.

1. Gary Tight
Gary Tight is the son of musician Willom Tight. His father released hit songs such as Ndinoda wekumaruzevha and Chirangano. Gary is equally as good as his father and has collaborated with the likes of the late music icon Oliver Mutukudzi. The young Tight has a unique feel to his music and is talented with a sweet melodious voice reminiscent of his father.

2. Peter Moyo
Peter Moyo took over the reigns from his late father Tongai Moyo. Tongai Moyo was well known for his thought provoking sungura music. Some of his songs include Muchina muhombe and Munyengeri. Peter Moyo is also a great sungura musician and has managed to maintain his father’s legacy. He even dresses like his late father.

3. Selmor Mutukudzi
The daughter of legendary music icon Oliver Mutukudzi showed the world that she had inherited her father’s music genes. Selmor is a force to reckon with and her afro pop music has received international recognition. She has penned down songs such as Mbende and Hangasa which were all chart toppers. She continues to preserve her father’s legacy.

4.Guspy warrior
Guspy warrior is son to gospel musician Mechanic Manyeruke. Although his father sings gospel music, Guspy opted to delve into the zimdancehall genre. In spite of the divergence, Guspy warrior exhibits great lyrical talent and his magical voice clearly reveals that he falls nothing short of his father.

5. Ammara Brown
Ammara is the daughter of the late Andy Brown. Andy Brown released songs such as Mawere Kongonya and Kurwizi which were instant hits. He clearly taught Ammara well, as is evidenced by her unwavering success in the music industry. Ammara joined her father’s band and started singing from a tender age.
