Two Zim comedians nominated for the Savanna Comic’s Choice Awards.

It is often emphasized that laughter is the best medicine. Comedians have been getting making headlines of late for their magical humour that eases problems in life. Two of our very own comedians, King Alfred and Long John have been nominated for the Savanna Comic’s Choice Awards in South Africa. The event is an annual show case and sets to reward comedians from all over Africa. This year’s edition will be held on to 7th of September at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef city in Johannesburg.

King Alfred is based in the USA. He started off as an open micer in 2006 but turned to professional comedy in 2010. His list of accomplishments include reaching the semi final of the 2014 Shaq all star comedy competition,being a finalist at the Funniest comic in Texas competition and making it to Kevin harts Comedy central.

Long John also has an impressive career record. He has perfomed at events such as Oppikppi and Park acoustics. He has shared the stage with big names such as Gola. He has toured Europe. He managed to attain second position in the Cavendish comedy protest.

Both artists are optimistic of winning. King Alfred tweeted that the recognition is not only an achievement for him but for Zimbabwe at large. The two have been nominated for the Pan African comic of the year award. They are up against comedians from other countries such as Anne Kansiime from Zambia, Basket mouth from Nigeria and Chinglingz from Zambia.
