Every woman knows that the kitchen can be a frustrating place in the home. Trying out new recipes and spending some time putting some order in your drawers may be therapeutic if these top ten hacks are employed.
Give your herbs lasting freshness by putting them in a jar, half-filled with water.
In a hurry to get your onions browned, simply cover them with a lid as they cook.
To retain the freshness of mushrooms put them in a plastic bag and place in the fridge.
Create your own buttermilk by adding a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar to fresh milk.
Place cut and peeled potatoes in a dish full of water to avoid browning before cooking.
Wrap the ends of bananas with plastic wrap. Better yet separate the banana ends from one bunch.
Check the freshness of eggs by placing them in a bowl of cold water. If they sink, they are still fresh. If however, they float to the bottom it means they are no longer fresh.
Make peeling ginger easier by using a spoon.
Roll citrus fruits such as likes, lemon and oranges before cutting or squeezing them. Rolling makes them softer and easier to peel.
Freeze semi-soft cheeses such as mozzarella or parmesan before grating.
