10 Zimbabweans Who’ve Had A Worse Week Than You

Everyone goes through something challenging once in a while and whilst we shouldn’t compare people’s problems, we have compiled ten of the worst stories of people who’ve had a bad week in Zimbabwe.

Here is our pick of this week’s Zimbabweans who had a worse week than you.

1. 20 families in a Masvingo village who were evicted without compensation

MASVINGO Provincial Affairs minister Shuvai Mahofa said the 22 villagers from Chomfuli Farm on the outskirts of Mpandawana Growth Point in Gutu will not receive any government compensation for the structures they set up. The villagers are being evicted for settling on a farm allocated to the Zimbabwe National Army at Independence in 1980.

2. Morgan Tsvangirai

As if that Interview on ZiFM wasn’t bad enough, apparently his chief political strategist and chairman of the party’s United States branch Maxwell Zeb Shumba is forming his own political party called Zimbabwe First (ZimFirst). ZimFirst was officially launched on Saturday at a colorful ceremony at Shumba’s rural home at Zihundi village, under Chief Mangwende in Murehwa West, Mashonaland East Province.

3. ZBC

ZBC Deputy Sheriff was locked out of ZBC Headquarters in Highlands over $300k to prevent attachment of property. The Sheriff however managed to clamp all the vehicles which were outside preparing to take journalists to assignments.

4. Highlanders Fans

Highlanders fans all over the country are crying over the club’s fall and a possible relegation after they were thrashed by Caps United 3-1 on Sunday.

5. Eaglesvale Senior Staff

Eaglesvale Headmaster Naison Tirivavi and two senior staff Cheryl Botha and bursar Charles Blessing Shokobishi are facing charges of defrauding the institution of $873 840. The three were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Francis Mapfumo, who remanded them to October 30 this year on $1 000 bail each coupled with stringent reporting conditions.

6. Cuthbert Dube

Cuthbert Dube is facing eviction after revelations of questionable transactions related to funds generated from gate receipts by the Sports Commission. ZIFA has attempted to cancel the meeting set by FIFA for Saturday which was rejected.

7. Ziyambi Ziyambi

Former Mashonaland West Province acting Chairman Ziyambi Ziyambi has been barred from holding any party leadership position for the next two years following recommendations from the National Disciplinary Committee which were endorsed by the Politburo.

8. Mercy Kamanura

The 2nd runner up of Face Of Black Opal appeared in court for the theft trial in which the security revealed Kamanura had confessed to him that she had indeed stole the jumpsuit.

9. Masvingo Medical Superintended Fired

A Masvingo Medical Superintended was fired at Chiredzi District Hospital after he was accused of dereliction of duty that caused the death of seven people. Dr Paul Ngere will be leaving his post as chief medical officer after the Health Services Board did not renew his contract.

10. Kenneth Chibwana

Kenneth Chibwana allegedly assaulted visually impaired Lucky Chitimbe at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport whilst on their way home from the African Games. The Sports Commission have condemned the incident saying there can be no room for indiscipline in sport and will send a strong message to make sure it never happens again.
