ZIFA Board fired

Cuthbert Dube and the Zifa Board were on Saturday ousted from power following an extra-ordinary general meeting.

Part of the agenda at Saturday’s meeting was revoking the mandate of the Zifa board. When a vote was conducted on the matter 51 voted for the Zifa Board to be axed while 3 voted against the ousting of Dube.

In line with the Zimbabwe Football Associations constitution Jonathan Mashingaidze will now have the mandate of calling for elections which will be held on the 5th of December.

Cuthbert Dube’s exit puts an end to an era Zimbabwean football lovers will want to quickly forget. The hiring and firing of coaches, an aggressive pursuit of past Asiagate experiences, lack of good governance and the failure to fund for national team assignments are among numerous shortcomings Dube’s executive committee is accussed of.
