Tendai Ndoro happy with positive start at Orlando Pirates

Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro began life at Orlando Pirates brightly after helping the Bucaneers overcome Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday.

Ndoro who has always dreamt of featuring in the Soweto derby scored the winning penalty for Orlando Pirates after the Carling Black Label Cup ended in a 1 all deadlock in regulation time. Sifiso Myeni scored the opener for Orlando Pirates from a free kick before Amakhosi midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane scored an equaliser.

The encounter would go to a penalty shootout where Tendai Ndoro scored the winning spot kick.

Ndoro who made his Orlando Pirates debut on Saturday was delighted to begin his campaign for the Bucaneers brightly, “It’s a good feeling. I’m happy for the team and I wish to continue doing that. It boosts me and I want to continue scoring for the club and win cups this season,” he said.

Ndoro is also hoping to make the Orlando Pirates squad which will compete in the Caf Confederation Cup. Ndoro’s chances of featuring in Africa’s club competition seem bright given a hamstring injury which Thamsanqa Gabuza picked up recently , “Guys are training, different training, and those who are playing in the cup are getting only light training so us who are not playing and not involved must push harder and try to match them,” said Ndoro.
