Resurgent FC Platinum change title race complexion

By Geronimo News

FC Platinum’s recent run of form has transformed the complexion of the premier soccer league title race.

Dynamos and Chicken Inn were firm favourites in as far as the league race is concerned but a run of four consecutive victories has seen FC Platinum emerge as a front runner in the league race at the halfway stage.

The defending psl champions got their season off to a rather sluggish start but a run of four wins on the trot sees them now sitting third and just four points behind log leaders Chicken Inn.

Wins over Caps United, Yadah FC, Triangle and Cranborne Bullets lifted the spirits of the Zvishavane based side at the halfway stage.  Given the positive momentum FC Platinum fans will be relishing a fruitful second half of the season.

After picking up 9 victories in the first half of the season the Platinum miners will want to accelerate their winning ratio in the second half of the season as the race for the psl title is expected to be a tensely fought affair.

FC Platinum lost a number of experienced players that include Rodwell Chinyengetere, Kelvin Madzongwe and Silas Songani but the youngsters brought in by Norman Mapeza appear to be doing well in as far as filling in the shoes of the experienced players that left the club.

While many will point to Dynamos and Chicken Inn as firm contenders, the resurgence of FC Platinum will be causing some anxious moments for Dembare and the Gamecocks.
