Shingirai Mandizwidza Sets Goal to Reach Double Figures

21-year-old forward Shingirai Mandizwidza is gearing up for the upcoming season, with his focus being on improving his goal-scoring proficiency. Although he has a strong track record of being clinical in front of the goal, Mandizwidza is striving to at least reach double figures in the coming season.

As a striker, statistics are paramount, and Mandizwidza is eager to make his mark on the field. “It is obviously my desire to score goals. When I get out onto the field I always want to score and being a centre forward statistics are of paramount importance as our coaches always looking back to see how many goals you would have scored” said Mandizwidza

He hopes to be the first professional footballer in his family and put the Mandizwidza name on the map through his performance. “I want to be the first, there is always a first time for everything says Mandizwidza while giggling. I want to put the Mandizwidza name out there through my exploits on the field of play”.

With his quick pace and close control, Mandizwidza has been studying other speedy players like Marcus Rashford to guide his approach. “I am obviously a quick player, and I always want to capitalise on my pace in order to give my team an advantage. I always watch videos of quick players and try to see how they capitalise on their pace in order to score goals. Of late Marcus Rashford has been doing that and I am striving to emulate some of what he has been doing for Manchester United” says Mandizwidza.
