Platinum Prince pleads with artists to help Lady Squanda

Platinum Prince has pleaded with fellow artists to lend a helping hand to zimdancehall chanter Lady Squanda. The self proclaimed “ambassador we Reggae” has been living on hard times and was recently arrested on robbery charges before escaping jail time by a whisker. Platinum Prince said she really needs support from the whole nation but artists ought to play a more pivotal role in reshaping her life since they are well aware of the struggles that artists are facing.

A few months ago, Lady Squanda shocked the whole nation when she stepped out looking frail and thin. The once heavily built and curvy singer looked like a shadow of her former self with a gaunt face and visibly depleted body. Social media had no kind words for her new look but it was only when she was arrested a few days ago that people woke up to the realisation that she is facing major challenges.

Platinum Prince reminder people that Lady Squanda also has a family to feed and is in dire need of assistance. He noted that she might have done some things out of desperation.

Lady Squanda rose to fame with her hoarse voice and catchy lyrics. Her songs such as Nidnovhaira were chart toppers. She even had the chance to travel to the UK for gigs at one point. She is one the female pioneers of dance hall music and for fans to see her in such a state is disheartening. Some have reiterated Prince’s remarks and asked Tinashe Mutarisi to step in and lend a helping hand. The Nash boss has a reputation for helping struggling artists.

Lady Squanda might be going through a hard time due to the limitation on gigs brought about by the current lockdown. Most artists can barely afford to make a living
