Selmor Mutukudzi opens up about her past.

Musician Selmor Mutukudzi recently opened up about her childhood days. She reminisced on the days that her father, the late musical icon, Oliver Mutukudzi had thrust her into the world of acting at only 10.

Selmor recalled the day she had come home from school and her ftaher had instructed that she put on her sunday best. She had then been told that they were going somewhere to which she later realized that it was a movie set. Selmor said that she was hastily taken to the make up room and given some lines to memorize before being ushered in front of the camera and advised to start acting.

Selmor said it was then that she realized that she was a natural as she aced her perfomance. She said the movie was called I’m the future and featured a star studded cast. She stated that she had the opportunity to act in one scene with Patricia Mabviko.

Selmor might have easily pursued a career in acting as evidenced by her acting feats during her childhood years. She also starred in another movie called Escape. Selmor is however a talented musician and has released songs such as Nguva yangu, Mbende and Zvidiki diki. Her melodious voice and soft rythmic tones always impress.

Selmor is married to Tendai Manatsa who is also a musician and the couple has collaborated on various songs
