Kalisto Pasuwa hopes to put behind pre-christmas drama as Warriors gear up for CHAN

Zimbabwe’s preparations for the 2016  African Nations championship were rocked by so much drama but Warriors head coach Kalisto Pasuwa will be hoping to quickly forget about the teams rocky preparations and focus on the task at hand.

The pre-christmas period saw Zimbabwe’s head coach being controversially sacked after challenging the appointment of Wellington Mpandare as the Warriors team manager. Intervention by Minister of Sport and Recreation Makhosine Hlongwane however saw the situation normalising.

Having been forced to break camp early before christmas owing to the infighting engineered by Zifa Vice-President Omega Sibanda, Pasuwa will now have to ensure he gets his charges into the right frame of mind when the Warriors commence preparations on boxing day.

Zimbabwe last took part at a CHAN event in 2013, a year in which Ian Gorowa guided the Warriors to the last four. Given such form at the last CHAN tourney, Pasuwa will be hoping for a similiar showing in Rwanda.
