Zimbabwean Immigration Officer With 107 Passports Arrested

A Zimbabwean migration officer has been arrested after being found with one-hundred and seven passports at his home in Bulawayo.

Thulane Humbe was arrested in an early morning raid at his house after community members tipped off the police. Humbe was in possession of 106 Zimbabwean passports and one Malawian.

“Police acting on a tip proceeded to a certain house in Cowdray Park and conducted a search where they recovered 106 Zimbabwean and one Malawian passport. The suspect was in the habit of date stamping the passports masquerading as a customs official at the Beitbridge Border Post”, said Snr Asst Comm Charity Charamba.

She has warned members of the public to avoid engaging in illegal dealings. “Police are warning members of the public to desist from engaging in illegal activities as the long arm of the law will soon catch up with them.”

All government business is conducted through appropriate designated offices not at private houses”, she said.
