Method Mwanjali, a Caps United legend

Football related platforms today woke up to the news of Caps United defender Method Mwanjali having made the decision to hang up his boots probably due to the growing frustration of inactivity on the football front. Had authorities taken quicker to ensure football returned Mwanjali could have possibly given it one more season before calling it quits.

Mwanjali picked up an injury towards the end of the 2019 season and was expected to return to action in mid-2020. Unfortunately owing to the covid-19 pandemic there has been no football to talk about, a situation many believe may have sparked Mwanjali’s decision to call it quits following a sterling career which saw him play for Hwange, Caps United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Simba Sport of Tanzania. Mwanjali also boasts of several national team caps.

After spending so many seasons donning the green and white jersey Mwanjali will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the top centre backs to turn out for Caps United where he enjoyed several prosperous season’s with the green machine.

A leader par excellence, Mwanjali was captain for several seasons at Makepekepe an honour also bestowed on him when he turned out for Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa. While there have been several contestations regarding what constitutes a football legend, Method Mwanjali will undoubtedly fit the tag of being a Caps United legend.
