Jah Prayzah keeps pushing the boundaries for Zimbabwean music. After making the announcement, the music video for Ronika is out. The track as well as the visuals were released Thursday night at the Trace Africa launch in Harare. The launch was hosted at Ginimbi’s club, Sankayi in a star studded event.
The single was produced by Military Touch Movement in house producer, DJ Tamuka. The launch happened on the same day as DJ Tamuka’s 29th birthday. Ronika which is a female name, is a house music track and finds Jah Prayzah somewhat rapping.
The song according to Jah Prayzah’s description, talks about how negative people should always be shunned when it comes to having fun. The music video was shot and directed by South African video director Nic Roux. Roux previously worked with Jah Prayzah on Mahara Vachauya.
The music video is colorful, shot at a dock with a lot of women. The women are dressed in bum shorts and bikini tops. Jah Prayzah has also started the #RonikaChallenge on social media. Fans are required to send a video of themselves dancing to Ronika. Two winners will win Jah Prayzah t-shirts and free tickets for the most number of likes.
