Peter Magombeyi, the doctor who was said to have been abducted has been located. Colleagues of the doctor said that he confirmed that he is safe and sound. The doctor communicated with his friends and family that some unknown assailants had abducted him from home in Budiriro. He had no recollection of what transpired thereafter.
The doctor said that he only woke up in a bushy area in Chipinge without any idea of how he had arrived there. Doctors had downed tools and taken to the streets to protest against the abduction of Magombeyi. They had marched to the president’s office and lodged behind the offices. A night vigil had also been held for the missing doctor at Parirenyatwa hospital a few days ago.
Just yesterday, lawyers, doctors and members of other professions had marched to the president’s offices a second time. As they passed through the offices, they castigated the current government for aiding and abetting the abduction of innocent citizens. This follows the abduction of comedian Gonyeti, who was tortured apbarely a month ago.
Peter Magombeyi is a qualified doctor and a union leader. He was currently negotiating for salary reviews and I proved working conditions for doctors. Most people said they happy that he is alive and well but castigated such behaviour of kidnappings in the country.
