2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen Review

While everyone else is crossing over, Volkswagen remains committed to wagons. The new SportWagen is based on the Golf and is a breath of fresh air. You don’t get navigation or power lumbar supports or push-start buttons, but for those who prioritize the driving experience, the Golf’s strong foundation yields a premium feel.

At first glance the new car is easily recognizable as both a traditional wagon and a seventh-generation Golf.

The length wheelbase of the Golf four-door hatchback is the same the SportsWagen rides on. Another similarity the two cars have is the engine. The base unit is a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 170 HP, and 184 lb-ft of torque when paired to the five-speed manual transmission or 199 lb-ft. of torque with the six-speed automatic.

The SportsWagen is very spacious and would be a great car to have if you travel a lot.
