Zimbabwean afro soul music artist Berita, treated newlyweds Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung to a sweet serenade at the recently ended Feathers Awards in South Africa. The two lovebirds could be seen dancing softly to her melodious voice as they joined her on stage. Berita said she was happy that she finally got a chance to congratulate the couple who got hitched recently at a traditional wedding ceremony.
The Feathers awards have been used as a voice for the LGBTIQ community for over a decade. The 11th annual event was attended by ceebrities and members of the LGBTIQ community. The awards show was hosted by Moshe Ndiki, Rami Chuene and Pabi Moloi. Guests were treated to exhilarating perfomances by Busiswa and several other musicians.
This year’s event saw new categories such as the Best rainbow parenting and best LGBTIQ student movement being added. Winners included Krayzie k who won hot chick of the year and Thembi Kgatlana who won the Sports personality of the year award. The event seeks to recognize the LGBTIQ community in South Africa through the arts.
Somizi and Mohale are one of the most famous gay couple’s in South Africa. The crowd watched in amusement as Berita sang a love song for the couple on stage.
