Zimbabwe boasts of celebrities that are scattered all over the world. Although some may feign ignorance at their humble Zim background after lapping the sweet taste of fame, these 5 phenomenal ladies have defied the odds and openly acknowledged their roots. We compile a list of celebrities proudly showing off their Zim background.

Kim is a Zimbabwean model who is based in South Africa. She is also a television presenter on Mtv and brand ambassador. Kim simply loooves her home country. She constantly flies to Zim to have that reconnection with her motherland. She was recently in Bulawayo for a new project.

Kim always encourages people to acknowledge their background. She says it is what shapes them to become who they are today.

Makho Ndlovu is a celebrity reporter and blogger based in New York City. She has never shyed away from her Since roots. In a recent interview with talk show host Wendy Williams, Makho gave a resounding shout out to her home country. In spite of having hosted numerous international events, Makho still looks back with pride at her country of origin.

Gemma Griffiths is based in Zim. The sultry singer prefers to sing in Shona in spite of her being white. Most people find it amusing and sweet. Gemma regurlaly posts positive comments about her country. She recently wrote on Instagram,” It’s a new week and I’m back on Sim soil. My soul is at peace. Maita basa Zimbabwe”.

Danai has been actively involved in an anti poaching camapign in Zimbabwe. The local star is based in the USA. She has starred in movies such as Avengers and The black panther. Danai was in the country last year to raise awareness against poaching activities in Zim.

In another interview with Abc news, Danai sang her favorite Shona hymn. She also co founded an organization called Almost that is aimed at promoting growth of the arts industry in Zimbabwe.

Berita hails from the city of Kings Bulawayo. She is currently based in South Africa and hasmade a huge name for herself. Berita recently showed love to her hometown by staging a free show at the Bulawayo Arts gallery. She said she wanted to give back to the community that she knew was facing a lot of challenges due to the bad economy.
