The new movement called ‘The Sound’ is a movement, portrayal of the Zimbabwean House music scene from the people that make it happen.

This movement was birthed from the realization that house music lovers did not have a source from which to truly enjoy this genre.

The genre has quite a large yet niche following thanks to the House DJ in Zimbabwe. The movement includes Big Vee, DJ RufChat, DJ Icytat and Reverb 7.

The above have been pushing the genre from as early as 2012 and are renowned in clubs and events for their skills on the decks when it comes to House music.

Big Vee is the founder and driving force behind ‘The Sound. Big Vee has an impressive portfolio that dates back to 1999. A graduate from the Manhattan School of Music, Big Vee has played in South Africa as well as having mixes on Star FM and ZiFM.

In the mix are two popular award winning House producers DJ Icytat and Reverb 7. 2016 AFRIMA award winner DJ Icytat has been known for his remixes and mixes played on Star FM. He has also been a resident DJ at upmarket venues in Harare and exclusively playing House music.

Afro house DJ and producer Reverb 7 rocked airwaves with his hit ‘Honai’. Reverb 7 has had several hits including the 2015 ZIMA award winning track ‘Handikusiye’.

Rufaro Chatora a.k.a RufChat began his career in 2012 in Chinhoyi hosting and sharing big stages with DJ Wushin’s Tirinhubu Tribe. DJ Rufchat brings an electrifying house sound to the decks.
