Zimbabwean actress who is based in Hollywood Danai Gurira continues to dominate the headlines. The television star was recently awarded the 2019 CARE impact award for global equality in recognition of her role in creating opportunities for women and girls around the world. She achieved this through her non governmental and non profit organization called Love our girls.
Danai described the award as surreal. She acknowledged CARE model an entrepreneur Iman for showing her and other girls the right path to follow. Danai excitedly wrote on her Instagram “She was one of the first people to who me and other young African girls that we could hold our heads high as Queens”.
Gurira is well known for her roles in popurlar series The walking dead and the Black Panther movie. The Zimbabwean actress has always shown her humanitarian side and continues to uplift girls and women worldwide. She was also recently roped in a WildAid wildlife campaign to try and raise awareness on the plight of wild animals especially in Zimbabwe
