Janet Manyowa bags 7 nominations.

Gospel sensation Janet Manyowa is on cloud nine after being nominated for 7 awards at Emmanuel and Ruth Makandiwa’s Invitations Concert Awards night (Permican). The event will be held at Harare City Sports centre on November 22.

Janet Manyowa was nominated for in the following categories:

1. album of the year (Grateful)

2. Video of the year (Nyasha nengoni)

3. Best female artist

4. Best song writer (Grateful)

5. Best collaboration for her song You are more featuring Nqubeko Mbatha

6. Best Live DVD recording (Grateful)

7. Song of the year. (Nyasha nengoni,)

Her manager and husband Munyaradzi confirmed the news and sad they were excited and grateful for the recognition. He said it encourages them to work even harder when they get such positive feedback for their music. Manyowa has previously bagged 4 Permican awards.

The awards this year will also see two legends being awarded and the most viewed song getting an accolade. The man of the moment Mambo Dhuterere has also been nominated for his song Mambo ndisesekedze in the song of the year category, best newcomer, best traditional , best song writer and best collaboration.

Most people are pregnant with anxiety to see who will emerge victorious as both artistes are talented. Mambo Dhuterere has been the talk of town because of his swag and pimped up apostolic music. The young singer has even collaborated with Seh Calaz a zimdancehall artiste. Minister Michael Mahendere is also part of the nominees Gospel music is very popular in Zimbabwe. It is a universal music genre that appeals to both the young and old as well as people from various church denominations.
