the vice president of Zimbabwe retired army general Constatino Chiwenga jetted back into the country on Saturday. The once frail looking war veteran looked completely different and full of life as he posed for photos at the airpot. He clearly looked rejuvenated after his four month medical retreat in China following a fatal health scare.
The vice president remarked that he almost died due to health complications that saw him being airlifted to the Asian country for specialist treatment. Rumours had circulated that he was on the verge of dying but the defiant statesman proved the contrary.
Chiwenga expressed gratitude to the Chinese medical team for giving him a lifeline and saving him from the jaws of death. He said that he almost breathed his last. In an official statement fellow Zanu Pf spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo also applauded the Chinese government for such dedicated care and support. He also wished the vice president long life and good health.
Most people have however questioned why party members did not throng the airport to welcome back their fellow member. The welcome back party mainly consisted of Chinese businessmen. Bustop tv in a new skit showed Gonyeti arriving at the airpot and captioned that her friends were not there to welcome her back, a direct mimicking of the arrival of Chiwenga.
