Bed wetting can be embarrassing for your child. It is however a very common problem and can be easily dealt with by following some basic guidelines. Here is our list of spill proof strategies to keep your child snug and dry all night long.

1. Limit liquid intake just before bedtime Encourage kids to drink a lot of fluids during the day,then cut off on consuption during the evening. Liquids such as hot chocolate or a glass of milk before bedtime are a big no.Do not,however excessively limit fluid intake or too early in the afternoon.

2. Routinely go to the toilet just before bedtime. This should be an automatic gesture such as bruching teeth or combing hair. Your kid must relax while sitting in the loo and take their time. Also let your kid put in loosely fitting pyjamas with an elastic waist band to make going to the bathroom easier at night.

3. Make bedtime the same time every night Practising a similar bedtime routine will help break the bedwetting habit. Be sure there is adequate lighting in your child’s room so that they find their way to the bathroom at night.

4. Eliminate problem foods before bedtime Stay clear of foods containing caffeine as they can ipactbin a child’s sleep and bladder function. Diuretic foods such as citrus fruits and juices also irritate the bladder and ust not be given to the child just before bedtime.

5. Buy a bedwetting alarm This is an important gadget that emmits a loud sound at the first signs of moisture. Never let your child sleep in their pee as punishment. Be supportive, do not lash out at the when they bedwet
