Top 10 Zimbabweans Raising The Zim Flag High

Oliver Mtukudzi once said artists at most represent a country more than politicians do. We couldn’t agree more with him. The following Zimbabweans are doing a great job raising the Zim flag high in their respective lines of work, representing who we are to the rest of the world. We love that when these stars make it big they don’t forget where it all began and where they come from.

We love to claim them as much as they take pride in being part of our beautiful nation. Here’s our top ten Zimbabweans raising our nation’s flag high.

Brian Soko

Brian Soko has managed to break into the American music industry, penning and producing songs for big international artists like Beyonce. He is the man behind JayZ and Beyonce’s collabo “Drunk In Love” which he won a Grammy for in 2014.

Danai Gurira

Making it in Hollywood is no easy task on its own, making it on one of the most successful TV shows coming from a country like Zimbabwe seemed impossible until Danai did it. She is one of the stars on an American show called The Walking Dead.

Buffalo Souljah

Buffalo Souljah is a six time Channel O award winning artist. In an industry that is dominated by hip hop and Afro pop, he mas managed to put himself and Zimbabwean dancehall music on the African map.

Pokello Nare

Pokello’s entry into the reality show Big Borther Africa paved her way to success across the continent. She launched her shoe line “pokello pink bottoms” after the show which has been a success even outside of Africa. She has opened stores in Zimbabwe and South Africa amongst other African countries.  She is undoubtedly one of the pioneers of pop culture in Zimbabwe as she’s one of the most noticeable Zimbabwean celebrities with the largest social media following in the country on twitter and Instagram.

Nadia Nakai

Nadia Nakai is on her way up, an African rap queen and also happens to be one of us. We love that she always sends a shoutout to her home country although she’s based in South Africa.
