Selmor Mtukudzi maintains father’s legacy.

Zimbabwean musician Selmor Mtukudzi is certainly retracing her father’s footsteps following a string of shows in his honour. Selmor is set to perform at another event dubbed “Tuku music lives on” in Bindura this coming Saturday. She will perform alongside Sulumani Chimbetu.

Since the death of her father early this year,Selmor has been performing with the original Black Spirits band together Picky Kasamba, a long standing member of the group who also perfomed together with her late father. Selmor has proven to be a force to reckon with. She has done an amazing job in emulating her father’s musical career. Selmor has also been in the music industry for some time having released songs such as Nguvai yangu, Mbende and Zvidiki diki.

Selmor will embark on a world tour with her first stop being in Leicester on July 13. The international and regional tournament will also take her to South Africa and then Zambia on the 20th and the 30th of July respectively. Selmor is simply reliving her father’s diary as he frequently perfomed abroad. Selmor is also looking to market herself and prove her singing prowess in the international stage.
