People adhere to lockdown rules

Zimbabweans seem to have largely heeded to the call by government to stay at home. A quick survey of the central business district area revealed empty streets and closed shops. It certainly isn’t business as usual. The quiet and calm streets are evidence of a Nation gripped by fear and adhering to set instructions to prevent the spread of the corona virus


Zimbabwe has 5 confirmed cases of the virus and one death. The death of Zororo Makamba, son to prominent businessman James Makamba succumbed to the disease after returning from New York.

In some locations police have been turning people back home as they tried to make their way into town. The lockdown might have slowed down the ease o doing business for some but if is indeed a necessary measure to ensure the virus is not spread from one end to the other
