Covid 19 death toll rises

Zimbabwe has recorded another death from Corona, bringing the number to 4.According to Star FM news, the latest patient succumbed to the virus at a private hospital.Zimbabwe’s #Covid19 death toll has risen to 4 after one more person succumbed to the disease at a private hospital in Harare.According to reports, the deceased was an 82-year-old woman from Mhondoro, Mashonaland West province.She is said to have died at Westend private hospital in Harare at around 2am.Minister of Health, Dr Obadiah Moyo said contact tracing began last night following her death.We are still trying to trace the source of infection for this case, so far we only know that the case came from Mhondoro,” said Minister Moyo

He also revealed that the health officials are hard at work trying to trace the first point of infection as the deceased had no travel history.This follows after the Ministry’s update yesterday that 3 new infections were recorded , bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 28.The Ministry revealed that 841 tests were done yesterday, making a total of 4 159 diagnostic tests done to date.Results for 65 samples are still pending.The third person was 50-year-old male patient from Harare who died after being admitted as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital.He had a history of travel,having travelled from the UK sometime in March.The second patient was Ian Hysolp, 79 from Bulawayo who had no travel history except going for a tour to Hwange.The first was Zororo Makamba, 30 who also died at Wilkins Hospital, he had a history of travel from New York.
