Willard Katsande emphasises need for goals

Absa Premiership defending champions Kaizer Chiefs haven’t been firing on all cylinders in the new season and defensive midfielder Willard Katsande believes that if they can score more goals in the new year they could defend their league title.

The Zimbabwe international told the Soccer Laduma that the most important thing is to create chances and score more goals to win games.

“We didn’t start very well but it hasn’t really been that bad. We can improve from what we have done do far and to do that is to score more goals.”

Chiefs occupy fourth position on the standings and find themselves trailing leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by five points.

“We have been creating chances but we haven’t been scoring that much and we need to improve on that in the new year,” the former Ajax Cape Town player concluded.
