Man kills own brother for impregnanting daughter.

A Harare man teamed up with his relatives to assault his young brother who he accused of impregnating his daughter. The assault unfortunately ended in tragedy as his young brother succumbed to the injuries and died a day later. Jacob Zvirevo, Jesca Zvirevo and Lovemore Chipani appeared before Harare Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa facing murder charges. The trip was remanded in custody to January 16 and advised to apply for bail at the High court because they are facing a serious third schedule offence.

It is the state’s case that the trio teamed up with Tichaona Zvirevo who is at large and went to the now deceased Guide Tsvaira’s place in Dzivarasekwa. They confronted him and accused him of impregnating Jacob’s daughter. She had initially refused to name the person who had made her pregnant but after being pressured she eventually gave in and singled out Guide, who is her uncle.

After assaulting Guide and realising the extent of his injuries, the assailants then dumped him at his house where he died the following day after failing to get medical attention. A post mortem report confirmed that he died as a result of the injuries sustained during the assault.
