Will Billiat survive the chop at Naturena?

By Geronimo News

Former Zimbabwe international talisman Khama Billiat’s future at Naturena hangs in the balance following a massive clear out at Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the forthcoming season.

The ailing giants had an unconvincing campaign in the just ended 2021/22 DStv Premier League season in which they ended on 5t position hence the move by the club to have a complete overhaul in a bid to try and turn around the fortunes of the club.

Amakhosi have gone on a seven-year trophy drought and are eager to end that barren spell with the newly appointed head coach Arthur Zwane tasked to take the club back to its former glory days.

In just a space of 120 minutes, Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of Lebogang Manyama, Samir Nurković, Daniel Akpeyi, Daniel Cardoso and Leonardo Castro in a move aimed at bringing in some fresh pair of legs.

With the rate at which the Soweto giants are moving it remains to be seen whether Billiat will survive the chop.

Given his current form where he has partially relieved the kind of player he was some few years ago while at Mamelodi Sundowns, perhaps the football gods will protect him and spare him the dismissal as they give him another chance to continue reviving his fading career.

The former Warriors lanky forward joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2018 from perennials foes Sundowns and netted 18 times for the club and has provided as many assists for Amakhosi this season.
