Tererai Mugwadi In Culpable Homicide Case

Singer Tererai Mugwadi has been rather quiet in a while however she is caught up in a serious culpable homicide case. Mugwadi appeared in court for an alleged drunk driving which led to an accident that killed one person.

The 32 year old singer was not asked to plead to culpable homicide charges before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Oliver Mudzongachiso. She was however remanded out of custody to September 4, for trial.

According to prosecutor Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa, at around 8.40pm on June 23 2017, Miss Mugwadi was driving a Toyota Rav 4 along Seke Road under the influence of alcohol. It’s alleged that Mugwadi failed to control her vehicle, swerved and encroached onto oncoming traffic.  Mugwadi’s car then hit a Toyota Hiace truck.

The vehicle was being driven by Tichaona Takaeneya with one passenger on board. After being hit on the right side the vehicle overturned. The passenger, Seremani Marvellous, died on the spot. The matter was reported to the police leading to Mugwadi’s arrest.

No comment has come from Mugwadi or her representatives.
