Is coaching Dynamos an impossible job?

By Geronimo News

Since the departure of Callisto Pasuwa from Dynamos in 2014 the Glamour Boys have frequently hired and fired coaches but all to no avail.

Biggie Zuze (MHSRIP), Lloyd Chigove, Lloyd Mutasa, Paulo Jorge Silva and Tonderayi Ndiraya have all been among those given a chance yet failed to deliver up to the club’s expectations.

DeMbare’s last campaign could be counted as the closest they have come to claiming league glory but when the season came to a close Stanza as Ndiraya is affectionately known still went on to receive the boot.

Handed the task of miraculously bringing back the title to DeMbare is Herbert Maruwa who was assistant to Pasuwa when Chazunguza went through that golden era of four consecutive league crowns from 2011 to 2014.

Jompano as Maruwa is affectionately known has quietly gone about his business with a squad overhaul seeing the former Black Rhinos gaffer letting go of players such as Patson Jaure, Tanaka Chidhoba, Sylvester Appiah, Albert Eonde, Keith Murera, Ralph Kawondera and Godknows Murwira among several others to leave the club.

Despite having the financial muscle to bring in top talent at the club, analysts have, however, often highlighted the need for DeMbare to exhibit patience and come up with a solid blue print that will ensure their return to the top of the country’s football landscape. While clubs such as FC Platinum and Ngezi Platinum Stars have turned towards developing their own talent that can easily adapt to the first team philosophy, Dynamos continues to rely heavily on the transfer market, a scenario which is deemed as responsible for the Blue Army’s downfall.

Traditionally the Glamour Boys were renowned for developing their own players with the likes of Vitalis Takawira, Chamunoda Musanhu, Memory Mucherahowa, Norman Maroto, and Eddie Mashiri just to name a few all being players that passed through the Dynamos Mill.

At present the situation is the opposite of the past as DeMbare continue to rely on signings and one then wonders whether the prevailing trend will give the Mbare based outfit an opportunity of returning to the winner’s podium.
