Nox to release new track

Urban grooves artist Nox Guni has aroused excitement within his followers after announcing he will in the coming days be releasing a track titled Mafake Boss. While prospects of a new track is itself exciting, fans are aroused by the fact that Nox Guni this time features popular Zimdancehall artist Shinsoman.N

The urban grooves artist began his musical journey with an audition at a local talent show called Superstar in 2002. Although he managed to progress to the later stages of the competition, he could not carry on because the talent show events coincided with his advanced level examinations.

In 2004 Nox released his first album titled “Wandipengesa” to which the hit single “maria” was included. The song Maria was also complemented by a well polished video. Since then Nox never looked back and has been a key artist in the growth of the Zimbabwean music industry.

Nox is a University Graduate and is currently employed in South Africa where he is a business executive. Nox boasts of possessing a clothing label which he hopes to build into a major brand in the coming years.

When the urban grooves phenomenon began, Guni was among artists that burst onto the local music scene. With the urban grooves movement threatened by the emergence of Zimdancehall the work of artists such as Nox will be fundamental in ensuring urban grooves continues to offer stiff competition and an alternative to other genres.

Despite the existing rivalry between Zimdancehall and urban grooves it is encouraging to see artists from the two genres coming together and collaborating.
