Mutizwa striking right cord

Zimbabwe and Golden Arrows forward Knox Mutizwa appears to be striking the right chord after producing a top shelf performance in his side’s 2-1 win over Maritzburg United at the weekend.

Mutizwa has in recent months looked a pale shadow of the player that at one stage vied for the golden boot award last season, but there appears to be some form of revival on the part of Mutizwa. On Saturday the Warriors forward provided the assist for Lindokuhle Mtshali before turning scorer to hand Golden Arrows a 2-1 victory.

The goal was Mutizwa’s second in as many matches after scoring from the spot in Golden Arrows 4-2 victory over Cape Town City. The Zimbabwean will be hoping to remain in good form and earn a warriors recall after being left out in back to back encounters against Algeria at the end of last year.

Meanwhile Divine Lunga who provided the assist for Mutizwa’s goal in Saturday’s win continues to prove himself as one of the top left backs in the DSTV South African premiership after scooping the man of the match award.
