Winky D video goes international

After capturing the attention of Zimbabwe’s music fraternity the hit video Mugarden has now begun gaining international recognition with the track making it into the top 5 video’s on London based channel Vox Africa.

In the most recent top 5 countdown Mugarden was placed in 4th position outlining the video as a top quality offering which is gaining traction outside the country’s boarders.

Vox Africa is a Pan African channel which was established in 2008 and operates from London. Since its establishment it has had an ever growing audience owing to unique content which appeals to the African population.

Upon making it onto the top 5 of Vox Africa’s finest Winky D was quick to react to the encouraging development as he busks in the glory of a production which gained widespread acknowledgement on the local music scene. Following its release on valentines Mugarden went viral with many Zimbabweans impressed by the level of fluency exhibited by Gemma Griffiths who sang in Shona throughout the song. Even more captivating was the scene created which depicts the beautiful garden of eden.

While Kunerima which was done by Jah Prayzah attracted many views on Youtube no other video has been as popular as Mugarden in the year 2019. Although it was only released in February many have already begun tipping the exhilerating video to top the end of year 2019 music video charts.

While there has been concern regarding Zimbabwe’s ability to produce videos which penetrate the global markets, recent activity is encouraging with Winky D and Jah Prayzah outling the great potential that Zimbabwe has as a country.
