Tino Kadewere set for Lyon return

Warriors forward Tino kadewere is set for a return when Olympique Lyon clash with Stade Reims this evening after spending time out of action owing to injury. Kadewere has been in included in the squad to face Reims although chances are high that he may start from the bench as he is not yet 100 percent fit to last the entire game.

Kadewere suffered a muscle strain which kept him out of Olympique Lyon’s tie against Sochaux but the Zimbabwean forward is poised for a return when Lyon face Stade Reims. The Warriors forward has been in good form for Lyon this season, finding the back of the net on 9 occassions while chipping in with 3 assists for his side. The Lyon Stade reims encounter could see Kadewere rubbing shoulders with Warriors teammate Marshall Munetsi who is currently on the books of Stade Reims.

The return of Kadewere will come as a relief to Olympique Lyon coach Rudi Garcia who has outlined how important the Zimbabwean forward is to the squad. Apart from his goal scoring exploits Garcia has been impressed by Kadewere’s work rate and contribution when defending set pieces.

Tino who is an important part of the Zimbabwe national team is set to miss the Warriors crucial Afcon qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia owing to the covid-19 pandemic which has made it difficult for many European clubs to release their players for international duty.
