Former X Factor hopeful Gamu Nhengu tied the knot with her Scots sweetheart. The Zimbabwe-born singer walked down the aisle on Sunday. In a small ceremony with close friends and family, Gamu and her Stirling-born music shop worker husband Jamie Rintoul exchanged vows.
Gamu won many hearts when in 2010 she contested on the X Factor UK. The then 18-year-old received a standing ovation from the audience when she performed Katrina & the Waves ‘Walking On Sunshine’. She impressed hardcore judge Simon Cowell and received full approval from all four judges. She lost her place to Katie Waisel after an immigration row when it was revealed her family’s visa application was submitted late.
Gamu managed to get cleared and is now a British citizen. She has a band called Sheltrs and made a brief return to the public eye after presenter Rylan Clark launched a campaign to find her in the Xtra Factor.
Gamu and Jamie have been dating since June 2015 and got engaged in September last year.
