Katsande and Billiat’s moment of reckoning

Willard Katsande and Khama Billiat will be eagerly hoping to be on the winners podium at the end of their crunch Caf Champions League encounter against Al Ahly slated for the Stade Mohammed V stadium in Morocco this Saturday.

Billiat recently returned from injury and will be hoping to sway the advantage in Kaizer Chiefs favour when Amakhosi clash with the Red Devils. Having made progress with his fitness, Billiat is part of the squad which will clash against Al Ahly this Saturday.

The Zimbabwean international played an influential role in Kaizer Chiefs passage to the final following a decisive goal against AC Horoya in the group phase of the competition and the Warriors star will be hoping to contribute further in the champions league final. Khama Billiat is no stranger to a stage as big as the Caf Champions League final after helping Mamelodi Sundowns win the biggest prize in African club football back in 2016.

Also eager to make a mark will be dimunitive midfielder Willard Katsande who has proven to be a key player for the Glamour Boy’s on the continent. Having recently signed a contract extension, Katsande will be keen to make use of experience gained over the years when Chiefs clash with Al Ahly.

While Katsande could be instrumental in providing defensive stability against a shrewd Al Ahly forward line, Khama Billiat will have a role of trying to ensure Kaizer Chiefs unlock the Al Ahly defense. When Sundowns won the Caf Champions League in 2016 Pitso Mosimane was Khama Billiat’s coach but the two will this time be in opposite corners with Mosimane now the Al Ahly coach.

On Saturday Africa will come to a stand still as Kaizer Chiefs go on a mission of attempting to win their first Caf Champions League title while reigning champions Al Ahly will be vying for a 10th crown.
