Czech Government University Scholarships For Zimbabweans

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Harare invites citizens of Zambia and Zimbabwe to apply for Czech Government University Scholarships to be awarded for enrollment at Czech Universities in 2015.

From the late 1950s until present day, nearly 22,000 foreign nationals have completed their studies at Czech Higher Education Institutions with a Government Scholarship.

Six university scholarships in total will be available for the citizens of Zambia and Zimbabwe willing to enroll in 2015 to the following academic programs:

Zambian Applicants

Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral Programs taught in Czech: medicine and agriculture (three scholarships offered in Zambia).
Attention: these programmes start at the Bachelors level (i.e. even applicants with Bachelors Degree willing to complete their Masters will have to enroll to the first year of Bachelors programme).

Masters and Doctoral Programs taught in English: agriculture, economics, informatics (IT), environmental studies, energetics (one scholarships offered in Zambia).

Zimbabwean Applicants

Bachelors, Masters, Doctoral Programs taught in Czech: medicine, political science (one scholarship offered in Zimbabwe)
Attention: this programme starts at the Bachelors level (i.e. even applicants with Bachelors or higher Degree willing to complete their Masters or PhD will have to enroll to the first year of Bachelors programme).

Masters and Doctoral Programs taught in English: agriculture, economics, informatics (IT), environmental studies, energetics (one scholarship offered in Zimbabwe).


Students reading for degrees taught in Czech will first be asked to complete one-year course of the Czech language, unless they can prove their proficiency in this language. The course is organized by the Charles University, takes place in the Czech Republic and is fully covered by the scholarship.

While the scholarship is comprehensive and includes tuition and personal allowances, it does not cater for air fare to the Czech Republic.

Prospective students from both countries are also advised to initiate contact with the respective authorities in both Zimbabwe and Zambia and inform them about their intention to apply for a Czech Government University Scholarship. These Ministries can provide successful candidates with additional support such as air fares.
