Warriors international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba earned Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem its first major trophy in 125 years.
The 22-year-old central midfielder played the whole match as Vitesse secured the trophy after beating AZ Alkmaar 2-0 in the final. The match was played on Sunday at the Kuip stadium in Rotterdam for the KNVB Beker Cup. The winner of the match would earn a spot in next season’s Uefa Europa League.
Former Norwich City striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel scored both goals for Vitesse in the last ten minutes of the game to seal the win.
Nakamba who has been a key player for Vitesse, started in the midfield and played the entire game. Nakamba has not only become part of a historical milestone for the Dutch side but he’s earned his first major piece of silverware at club level.
