10 Things You Didn’t Know About Jonathan Moyo

Professor Jonathan Moyo who also happens to be the Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Service is one of the most well known  politicians in Zimbabwe. As if that was not enough, he has become an overnight social media sensation even outside of Zimbabwe. His twitter account is the one to follow, you will never be disappointed, always entertaining.

Here are some unpopular facts about our new favorite tweleb (if we can call him that), you might not know.

1. Jonathan Moyo is a Capricorn, born on the 12th of January in 1957.

2. He was raised by his mother who had separated from his father when he was young.

3. Growing up he moved from Zimbabwe to Zambia then later on to Tanzania between 1973 and 1977.

4. He attended University of Zimbabwe and the University of Southern California. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree and PHD degree in Public Policy and Masters Degree in Public Administration.

5. Professor Moyo is ranked number 15 most popular politicians in Zimbabwe by a South African site “Famous Birthdays”.

6. Jonathan Moyo is also a philanthropist, he supports a number of activities in his hometown of Tsholotsho.

7. Jonathan Moyo has written three books in his career, 1) Voting for Democracy, 2) The Politics and Administration and Politics of National Purse.

8. The Information and Media Minister has the music bug, he was the man behind the band Pax Afro and recently composed a song for his daughter’s wedding.

9. Jonathan Moyo is married to Beatrice Moyo and they have three children.

10. He is the most popular Minister/politician in Zimbabwe on social media.
