Designer uplifts hopes for the blind

A Zimbabwean artist based in the UK, Tapiwa Dingwiza has made a stunning new collection specifically designed for the blind. Her new range of clothes have braille messages sewn in for the blind.

Tapiwa said she was inspired by her former school days to come up with the designs. She said she had learnt at a school that accommodated both the blind and those who could see. She however failed to properly communicate with her blind school mates due to social barriers. She then decided to design and see dresses with braille in order to bridge that gap between that who can see and those who cannot.

Tapiwa has shown innovation and care in her work. She proudly stated that each dress had a personalised motivational message embroidered in it. Her dresses are a true representation and celebration of the blind.

Tapiwa also highlighted that she wanted the deisgns to be inclusive as fashion embraces inclusivity. Her clothes will surely uplift and inspire a lit of people who have been excluded from certain inventions.

Tapiwa’s work has received a lot of positive reviews. She has been applauded for her creativity as well as her show of love for those that are looked down upon in society. She remarked that even blind people deserve to look and feel good.
