ZIFA President Applauds Prophet Magaya for Building Zimbabwe’s Second Post-Independence Stadium

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president, Nqobile Magwizi, has praised Prophet Walter Magaya, leader of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries, for his monumental contribution to Zimbabwean football infrastructure. Magwizi commended Magaya’s efforts in constructing the second stadium built in Zimbabwe since the country’s independence in 1980.

Magaya, alongside gold mogul Shepherd Chahwanda, who owns Hard Rock Football Club, is spearheading the development of Chahwanda Stadium (Heart Main Arena) in Kwekwe. This new facility will serve as the home ground for the ambitious Hard Rock FC, with construction progressing steadily. Magwizi, accompanied by ZIFA board member Brighton Ushendibaba, visited the site on Wednesday and expressed his admiration for the project’s scale and quality.

“This is impressive. Remember, this is the second stadium built in Zimbabwe after independence,” Magwizi said. He highlighted that the facility, which features modern stands, bucket seating, and an almost completed pitch, is on par with international standards, with future additions like a small mall, basketball and tennis courts, and ZIFA offices further enhancing the site.

Magwizi also emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing Zimbabwe’s football infrastructure. “We have traveled to Spain and England, and this stadium will match the quality we have seen worldwide,” he added, noting the need for local support and recognition of such groundbreaking initiatives.

As the construction of Chahwanda Stadium continues, Prophet Magaya’s vision of creating a top-tier footballing venue is becoming a reality, offering both sporting and community benefits.
