What To Eat And Not Eat During Exam Time

A lot of you are busy with your exams; know that a good balanced diet can help with your studying. Breakfast, lunch and super are all needed because during exams time you’ll need more energy. If your brain doesn’t get enough energy from your diet, it will take what it needs elsewhere in the body, which can make it more difficult to concentrate.

Balance your meal:

Living on only chips and pizza is not going to help you. Eat good breakfast it can be cereal or eggs.

Eat fruits:

Fruits have good sugars that help keep you feeling fresh, you can also have fruits for breakfast to regain the energy quickly to focus on your exams or revising for the day.

Eat fish and vegetables:

yes its sounds like a cliché, but you know it. Fish and vegetables have omega 3, known to help in brain function.

Foods to avoid:

foods such as snack bars that often contain added sugars, fruit juice and energy drinks. You should also avoid drinking too much coffee and soft drinks that can interfere with the ability to focus.

Drink water:

Although the “8 glass rule isn’t supported by hard evidence, it remains popular because it’s easy to remember. Keep your water bottle next to you every time you studying.

Relieve stress: 

Take a walk or go for a quick jog in the morning, free your mind and help relieve stress. If you’re more relaxed, you’ll be able to concentrate better and for longer.

Calm yourself down:

If you feel the stress and anxiety is getting to you, take time calm yourself time you can even give yourself sweet reward, you sure deserve it. Eat your favourite dessert, a cake, yogurt or chocolate. A sweet treat will calm stress.

Get enough sleep:

Sleep allows your brain to go over and retain everything you’ve learnt that day. Eight hours a night is ideal but it depends on you as an individual how much sleep is enough for you. Avoid things like tea, coffee, alcohol and medication as they can keep you up for too long. If you need a boost, eat some fruit.
