1. Decreases the risk of urinary tract infections – Although the overall risk of urinary tract infections is low in men, but the infections are more common in uncircumcised men and some of the infections can lead to kidney problems later on in life.

2. Reduced risk of some STDs in men – Circumcised men can have a lower risk of getting sexually transmitted diseases. Studies have shown that circumcision had a protective effect on HIV and it lowers a man’s risk of becoming infected with HIV up to 60%.

3. Protection against penile cancer – the risks of getting penis cancer when circumcised men and it also reduces cervical cancer in female sex partners.

4. Prevention of balanitis -which is inflammation of the organs and balanoposthitis which is inflammation of the glans and foreskin.

5. Prevention of phimosis – which is the inability to retract the foreskin and paraphimosis which is the inability to return the foreskin to its original location.
