10 Things You Didn’t Know About Samantha Musa (Misred)

She is sassy, outspoken and always speaks her mind and we love her for that. With a personality that stands out and a career that is sky rocketing, get to know the woman behind the name Misred with us. Here are ten things you might not know about the ZiFM beauty Misred.

1. Misred was born Samantha (but don’t call her Sama, she prefers Mai Hannah) Mary Musa in 1989. She grew up in Tafara, Harare before moving to Highlands with her family.

2. Misred is a single mom of one to a baby girl named Hannah whom she had when she was twenty-one years old.

3. Her industry name ‘Misred’ came from a unique lipstick she would wear, when she stopped her friend told her she was mis-read meaning misunderstood and it stuck with her.

4. Samantha Musa had her first taste of the industry when she along with three friends took part in a ZBC talent search when she was in Grade four. The group came third in the competition.

5. Her favorite childhood show on radio was James Maridhadhi’s Junior Show.

6. She has lived in Mozambique and it was in South Africa when she discovered her voice. Misred was ‘voice scouted’ for a voice over job whilst working for a marketing company called Nxatel and she’s never looked back.

7. The beauty is a brand ambassador for Coca-Cola and Black Opal to name just a few.

8. She represents ZiFM at the MTV Africa Music Awards annually where she’s met international celebrities like RnB singer Trey Songs, comedian Marlon Wayans, rapper French Montana and Bonang Matheba.

9. Her favorite tourist places to visit in Zimbabwe are the Nyanga and Vumba mountains.

10. Misred’s style icon is her make-up artist who she says doesn’t conform to any trends, her favorite lipstick is Hugme and her favorite color is Red.
