-A secretarial diploma

-at least 1 year experience as a receptionist

-high level of organizational inter-personal skills

A local NGO based in Harare is looking for a media intern

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

-working with team members

-write stories and editing videos

-compiling media reports and collect valid data for the benefit of the organization

-must be studying towards a degree in journalism/media/communications

-excellent computer skills with particular knowledge of video editing software

-skills in use and analysis of social media usage

4. Research and Writing Interns/Volunteers (MEWC)

Interns/Volunteers Duties

Specific internship/volunteers duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the preparation and publication of the African Women’s Decade report 2015;
  • Collect information and data on women’s rights in Africa during 2015
  • Track and report on progress African countries are making in the area of women’s human rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment;
  • Conduct a comprehensive desk review and analysis of the status and implementation of laws and policies and practices on women’s rights in Africa

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated with a strong interest or background on women related issues or studies/work in Africa
  • Proven working experience on issues related to gender;
  • Previous experience in desk and/or literature reviews on gender, development, human rights or any related area;
  • Excellent ability to work independently;
  • Capacity to analyse complex data and information and present it in an effective and concise way;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and work with people from different cultural background;
  • Possess strong research and writing skills
  • Be good at writing, proofreading and have strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent ability to read, analyse and write documents, articles, etc.
  • Good problem-solving and inter-personal skills;
  • Able to meet tight deadlines;

*This internship is unpaid and home-based (which makes it quite flexible as you can work from anywhere around the world).

-The internship requires a commitment of 3 months.
