2. Carbs Are All Bad

Another myth a lot of people now believe, not all carbohydrates are bad. Carbs are not all created equal, you might want to avoid processed carbs that are often high in sugar and white flour. Instead, enjoy beans, whole grains like brown rice and whole grain breads not forggeting your fruits and veggies.

3. Exercise is more important than diet

Diet has far more influence on developing your ideal lean body mass and overall health than exercise. It accounts for about 80 percent of the health benefits derived from a healthy lifestyle, but of course both are necessary for optimal health.

4. Eating less makes you lose weight

If you don’t eat for 12 hours, your metabolism slows by 40%, which is why eating regular meals is essential when trying to lose weight. It’s not about eating less and fewer times, it’s about eating the right foods regularly in small potions.

5. More sleep makes you fat

The truth is the more you sleep the more weight you lose. Sleep deprivation upsets our hormone balance, triggering both a decrease in leptin which helps you feel full and an increase of ghrelin which triggers hunger. As a result, we think we’re hungry even though we aren’t and so we eat more.
