Reverend Chivaviro Named For Two More Awards
Outstanding gospel sensation Togarepi Chivaviro has been nominated in two categories of South Africa’s third edition of the prestigious Independent National Gospel Music Awards (Ingoma) scheduled for August 27 at the Midrand Theatre in South Africa recently after scooping the Best Collaboration award during the inaugural Trumpet Africa Gospel Music Awards awards ceremony meant to honor artistes from the African continent.
Togarepi’s hit song Ebenezer, topped several local top gospel charts and received a massive airplay on the local radio has also seen him nominated in The Best African Gospel Artists category against Busi Mahlaba’s Peace in Africa, Ambassador J Luemba’s No More Violence and Mpho Thosago’s Hae Lehodimong.
Reverend Chiraviro who is currently based in South Africa reportedly said he was delighted by the inroads that his music has made into the South African market. He also said that it looks like God still has more for them. The grace of God continues to locate them with more doors opening for them outside their borders. Now it is certain that the song Ebenezer is the key God gave them to open these new doors.
”Ingoma recognition itself means South Africans believe in us as well. We are hoping that Zimbabwe will vote for us and that we get at least one of these two awards. There is a lot of networking taking place around these events and through these processes we get to improve our music as well,” he added.
